brian’s thoughts

ai for creativity

billions of dollars poured into ai. and the brightest minds have given us…a textbox inside the terminal, a mere step up from punch cards, to interact with ai.

IMG_8562 not even Turbo Vision style with menus, forms, and buttons but a single lonely textbox and stream of consciousness from an unreliable hallucinating narrator.

you can’t even view source code files inside these coding agent interfaces!

why can’t it be visual, spatial, graphical, interactive? because language models are textual? the same way computers are binary? should we just type in zeroes and ones on a two button keyboard for the sake of the computer??

IMG_8564 take me back to the days of Douglas Engelbart, HyperCard, NeXT, when people imagined and invented a better future. when computers were innovative and fun and exciting and expressive.

i want personal computing not financial computing, for maximizing shareholder profit. give me ai for creativity not productivity.
